IT Staff Augmentation Services

When your development team needs more capacity — but hiring a full-time employee takes months and costs a fortune — staff augmentation gives you a faster, more flexible answer. DevIT Group provides senior .NET engineers, full-stack developers, and DevOps specialists who slot directly into your existing team from $22/hr, with no long-term commitment required. You get the same calibre of engineer you would hire full-time, working in your tools, attending your standups, and reporting to your leads — without the recruitment fees, notice periods, or fixed employment overhead.

Talk to Us About Your Team Needs

How IT Staff Augmentation Works

Our process is designed to get the right engineer into your team as fast as possible, with the least possible friction on your side.

1. Describe the Skills You Need

Tell us what you are looking for — technology stack, seniority level, domain experience, and any specific requirements. A 15-minute call is usually enough for us to understand exactly who you need. We do not ask you to fill in lengthy job descriptions or navigate a procurement process.

2. We Match You with a Senior Engineer

We match your requirements against our bench of available engineers and present you with one to three candidate profiles — CVs, relevant experience, and a brief intro. You interview them directly. If the match is not right, we iterate. Most clients find their engineer within three to five working days.

3. The Engineer Joins Your Workflows

Your new engineer joins your Slack or Teams, your Jira or Linear, your Git repository, and your standup cadence. They work in your tools, follow your processes, and integrate into your team as a seamless extension — not as an external contractor who needs constant handholding.

4. You Manage Directly

There is no DevIT Group project manager sitting between you and the engineer. You manage the engineer directly — assigning tasks, reviewing work, and giving feedback — exactly as you would with a full-time hire. We handle employment, payroll, HR, and admin. You get the output.

5. Scale Up or Down as Needed

Need a second engineer next quarter? Done. Need to reduce hours during a quiet period? No penalty. Our engagement model is built for the reality of software product development, where team size needs change as projects evolve. You are never locked into a headcount decision you made six months ago.

Who We Provide

Every engineer we place has a minimum of five years of commercial software development experience and is assessed for business-level English communication. We do not place junior developers in senior roles or rotate engineers between multiple clients during your engagement.

Senior .NET / C# Developers

Our core strength. Senior .NET engineers with deep experience in ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, microservices architecture, and enterprise application patterns. Comfortable with legacy systems, greenfield builds, and everything in between. Our .NET bench draws on a team with collective 20+ years of production .NET experience.

Blazor & Angular / React Frontend Developers

Frontend engineers with strong expertise in component-based UI development, state management, accessibility, and performance optimisation. Blazor specialists for teams building full-stack .NET applications; Angular and React engineers for teams using a separate frontend framework.

Full-Stack Developers

Engineers who are genuinely competent across both backend and frontend — not a backend developer who can write basic HTML. Full-stack engineers are valuable for smaller teams and startups where role flexibility matters, and for features that cut across the entire stack without artificial handoff boundaries.

DevOps / Azure / AWS Engineers

Infrastructure and DevOps specialists experienced with Azure and AWS, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI), containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud cost optimisation. We place DevOps engineers who can both set up infrastructure and maintain it as your platform scales.

QA Engineers

Manual and automated QA engineers who understand software quality beyond test case execution — including test strategy, risk-based testing, exploratory testing, and building automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, SpecFlow) that the development team actually maintains.

Staff Augmentation vs Outsourcing vs Freelancers

Understanding the differences helps you choose the right model for your situation. Here is an honest comparison.

Staff Augmentation Outsourcing Freelancer
Control Full — you manage the engineer directly Low — vendor manages the team Full — but dependency on one individual
Commitment Flexible — scale up or down as needed Fixed contract, often 6–12 months Variable — freelancer may leave at any time
Speed to Start 3–5 days typical onboarding 2–6 weeks for contract & kickoff Fast — but finding quality takes time
Cost Transparent hourly rate, no hidden markup Higher — includes vendor margin and overhead Variable — quality at low rates is rare
Risk Low — same engineer, consistent relationship Medium — engineer rotation is common Higher — no backup if freelancer is unavailable

Why DevIT Group for Staff Augmentation

No Agency Markup — You Pay the Engineer Rate

Many staff augmentation providers add a 30–60% markup on top of the engineer's actual rate to cover sales, account management, and margin. We operate lean: our rates of $22–30/hr reflect what you pay for the engineer's time, not for a layer of sales infrastructure. Compare this to $100–200/hr at US agencies or $50–100/hr on platforms like Toptal — for engineers of comparable seniority.

The Same Engineer, Every Day

A common frustration with larger staffing firms is engineer rotation — you get a different developer every few months as the vendor manages their bench utilisation. We do not do this. The engineer you onboard stays with you for the duration of your engagement. Domain knowledge, codebase familiarity, and team relationships compound over time — they are not disposable.

UK-Registered Company with Eastern European Engineering Talent

DevIT Group is registered in the United Kingdom, giving you a professional commercial entity to contract with, clear terms, and reliable invoicing. Our engineers are based in Ukraine, Poland, Azerbaijan, and Bulgaria — countries with excellent engineering education and deep software development traditions. Working hours overlap substantially with UK and Central European business hours, making real-time collaboration natural without the awkward timezone shifts common with offshore providers.

Business-Fluent English, Direct Communication

All engineers we place have business-fluent English. They can participate in client meetings, write clear technical documentation, and communicate blockers directly with your product and engineering leads — without interpretation layers. This matters more than most clients expect until they have experienced the alternative.

3–5 Day Onboarding

From the moment you confirm an engagement, your engineer can typically be onboarded and productive within three to five working days. We handle the contractual and HR paperwork in parallel with the technical onboarding, so there is no waiting period once you have decided to proceed.

Engagement Models

We offer three engagement structures. All are based on a transparent hourly rate with no hidden costs.

Full-Time Dedicated

One or more engineers working exclusively on your project, 40 hours per week, for as long as you need them. This is the highest-integration model — the engineer is functionally a member of your team, participating in planning, standups, code reviews, and retrospectives. Best suited for teams that need sustained capacity for ongoing product development.

Part-Time (20 hrs/week)

An engineer working half-time on your project. Well-suited for teams that need a specialist capability — a DevOps engineer to own infrastructure, a QA engineer to build out test coverage — without the overhead of a full-time engagement. Part-time engineers are dedicated to your work during their agreed hours and available for async communication outside them.

Project-Based

An engineer or small team engaged for a defined period — typically two to six months — to deliver a specific piece of work alongside your existing team. We scope the engagement clearly at the start, agree on deliverables and timelines, and provide regular progress updates. Useful for teams that have a clear, bounded need: a platform migration, a new product module, a technical debt reduction sprint.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a minimum engagement period?

We ask for a minimum of one month to make the onboarding investment worthwhile for both sides. Beyond that, there is no lock-in. You can scale the engagement up, scale it down, or end it with two weeks' notice. We do not impose six-month or twelve-month minimums that force you to maintain capacity you no longer need. Most of our staff augmentation relationships last six months to two years — not because clients are contractually obligated to stay, but because the working relationship is valuable enough to continue.

How quickly can we get started?

Once we understand your requirements, we can typically present candidate profiles within two to three working days. After you select an engineer and confirm the engagement, we can have them onboarded and attending your standups within three to five working days. The main variable is how quickly you can complete your own internal approval process. We move as fast as you do — there is no lengthy vendor procurement on our side holding things up.

Will the engineer speak English well enough for client meetings?

Yes. All engineers we place are assessed for business-level English before being made available. They are comfortable in video calls, written communication, and technical discussions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Many of our engineers have worked with UK and US clients for several years and are entirely at ease in Western business contexts. If English proficiency is a specific concern for your engagement — for example, if the engineer will be customer-facing — tell us during the briefing and we will ensure the candidates we present meet that bar.

How is billing handled?

We bill fortnightly or monthly based on hours worked, with a detailed timesheet for each billing period. You pay a single transparent hourly rate — no separate charges for tools, licences, HR administration, or account management. Invoices come from DevIT Group Ltd (UK company), are denominated in GBP or USD at your preference, and are payable within 14 days. We do not charge setup fees or recruitment fees.

What happens if the engagement is not working out?

We would rather hear about a problem early than have a difficult situation fester. If the engineer is not meeting expectations — technically, communicatively, or in terms of team fit — tell us and we will address it directly. In most cases, a clear conversation resolves the issue. If the fit is genuinely not right, we will find a replacement engineer and manage an overlap period so your team does not lose continuity. We do not hold clients to an engagement that is not delivering value. Our business depends on long-term relationships, and that only works if the relationships are genuinely good ones.
