Our .NET Expertise
Our engineers work across the full width of the .NET platform. Whether you need a public-facing API, a real-time dashboard, a cross-platform mobile app or a modernised desktop application, the capability sits within a single team rather than being outsourced to specialists.
ASP.NET Core Web Applications and APIs
We build ASP.NET Core development projects ranging from RESTful APIs consumed by mobile clients to full server-rendered web applications. Our teams have delivered high-throughput APIs handling millions of daily requests, using minimal APIs in .NET 8 where appropriate and MVC patterns where the project complexity warrants it.
Blazor Server and WebAssembly
Blazor development removes the need for a separate JavaScript framework. We build Blazor Server applications for line-of-business tools where latency to the server is acceptable, and Blazor WebAssembly applications where offline capability or reduced server load matters. Both approaches share the same C# component model.
.NET MAUI Cross-Platform Applications
.NET MAUI development lets a single C# codebase target iOS, Android, Windows and macOS. For teams already running a .NET backend, this means shared models, shared validation logic and a significantly smaller team than building four separate native applications.
WPF Desktop Applications
We design, build and maintain Windows Presentation Foundation applications, including complex data-grid-heavy tools for finance, manufacturing and logistics clients who need the full power of a native Windows UI.
Entity Framework Core
Our engineers use Entity Framework Core for rapid data access layer development, combined with raw SQL or Dapper where query performance demands it. We design schemas that stay maintainable as your domain grows.
SignalR Real-Time Communication
For applications that need live updates, such as trading dashboards, logistics trackers or collaborative tools, we integrate SignalR to push data from server to client without polling.
Azure Integration and Deployment
Most of our .NET projects deploy to Microsoft Azure. We configure Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus and Azure SQL, and we set up CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions so releases are repeatable from day one.

When to Choose .NET
.NET is the right choice in a specific set of circumstances, and it is worth being concrete about what those are rather than claiming it suits every project.
- Enterprise performance and throughput: ASP.NET Core consistently ranks among the fastest web frameworks in independent benchmarks. For APIs handling tens of thousands of requests per second, that raw performance matters.
- Microsoft ecosystem alignment: If your organisation runs Azure, Active Directory, SQL Server and Microsoft 365, a .NET application integrates with less friction than a polyglot stack.
- Strong typing and long-term maintainability: C# is statically typed with excellent tooling in Visual Studio and Rider. Large codebases stay navigable over years, which reduces the cost of adding features in year three or four of a project.
- Single language across front and back end: With Blazor, your C# models, validation attributes and business logic are shared between server and browser. You stop translating logic between TypeScript and C#.
- Long-term Microsoft LTS support: Microsoft ships a Long-Term Support release every other November on a published cadence. .NET 8 LTS is supported until November 2026, and .NET 10 LTS, released in November 2025, is supported until November 2028. That predictability reduces platform risk for enterprise customers.
Blazor: The Future of .NET Web Development
Blazor development gives .NET teams a genuine alternative to JavaScript frameworks for building interactive web UIs. Understanding the three deployment models helps you choose the right one for your project.
Blazor Server
In Blazor Server, the component rendering happens on the server. The browser sends UI events over a SignalR connection and receives DOM diffs in return. This model keeps your application logic and data access entirely on the server, which suits internal tools and line-of-business applications where users are on reliable corporate networks. The trade-off is that every user interaction crosses the network, so it is not appropriate for high-latency environments or very large concurrent user counts without careful server sizing.
Blazor WebAssembly
Blazor WebAssembly downloads the .NET runtime and your application DLLs to the browser and runs them client-side. This removes the persistent server connection and allows offline scenarios. Initial load times are longer than a Blazor Server app, though ahead-of-time compilation in .NET 8 has reduced bundle sizes significantly. Use this model for public-facing applications, progressive web apps or tools that need to function without a constant server connection.
Blazor Hybrid
Blazor Hybrid embeds Blazor components inside a .NET MAUI or WPF application using a native WebView. This is the path for teams who want to share a Blazor UI component library between a web application and a desktop or mobile application.
Business Benefits of Choosing Blazor
The practical business case for Blazor is straightforward. You avoid the churn of JavaScript framework upgrades. Your C# developers can build the full application without hiring a separate front-end JavaScript team. Shared models between client and server eliminate a class of bugs that arise from keeping two representations of the same data in sync.

.NET MAUI for Cross-Platform Development
.NET MAUI development produces a single C# codebase that compiles to native applications on iOS, Android, Windows and macOS. For organisations with an existing .NET backend, the economics are compelling.
Building four separate native applications, one per platform, typically requires four separate teams with four separate codebases, four separate QA cycles and four separate release pipelines. MAUI consolidates that into one codebase with platform-specific customisation available where genuinely needed. Our clients typically see a 40 to 60 per cent reduction in build cost compared to commissioning separate native builds for each platform.
MAUI does make trade-offs. Applications with very complex, platform-specific animations or those that need deep integration with hardware APIs specific to one platform, such as advanced ARKit features on iOS, will still benefit from native development. We assess this honestly at the start of a project rather than defaulting to MAUI when native is the better fit.
For teams modernising from Xamarin, MAUI is the direct migration path. Microsoft ended mainstream support for Xamarin in May 2024. If you are still running a Xamarin application, the migration to MAUI is time-sensitive.

Migration and Modernisation Services
A significant portion of our work involves moving existing .NET applications forward. Legacy code that was well-engineered in 2005 or 2012 often still carries real business logic that would be expensive to rewrite from scratch. The goal is to preserve that logic while moving it onto a platform that is still actively maintained and deployable on modern infrastructure.
.NET Framework to .NET 8
The most common migration we handle is .NET Framework 4.x to .NET 8. The process involves dependency auditing, replacing or rewriting packages that have no .NET Core equivalent, resolving breaking API changes and updating deployment configurations. A mid-sized ASP.NET MVC application typically takes four to ten weeks depending on the number of third-party dependencies and the state of the test suite.
VB6 to C#
We take Visual Basic 6 applications, many still running critical business processes in manufacturing, logistics and finance, and rewrite them in C# on .NET 8. This is not automated conversion; it is a domain-informed rewrite that captures the original business rules while discarding thirty-year-old architectural constraints.
WinForms and WPF Modernisation
We modernise WinForms applications to WPF where a richer UI is needed, and update WPF applications to current .NET versions and MVVM patterns where the original code was written procedurally.
Xamarin to .NET MAUI
With Xamarin support ended, we migrate Xamarin.Forms and Xamarin.Native applications to .NET MAUI, updating the project structure, namespaces and renderer architecture that changed between the two platforms.

Why Hire .NET Developers Through DevIT Group
When you hire .NET developer resource through DevIT Group, you work with senior engineers from day one. We do not rotate junior developers through client projects to reduce our cost base. The engineer who estimates your project is the engineer who builds it.
Communication is direct. There are no account managers translating between you and the development team. You speak to the person writing the code, which shortens feedback loops and reduces the risk of requirements being lost in translation.
Our rates run from $22 to $30 per hour depending on seniority and engagement type. These are all-inclusive rates with no hidden recruitment fees or contractor margins stacked on top. Full source code and all intellectual property transfers to you at the end of the engagement. You are not dependent on us to access your own software.
DevIT Group is a UK-registered entity (71-75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ), which means UK and European clients contract with a company under English law while benefiting from Eastern European engineering rates. US and Canadian clients work with us under a straightforward service agreement.
For teams that need engineers embedded directly in their own development workflow, using their tools, their repositories and their sprint cadence, our staff augmentation service provides that model without the overhead of managing a separate outsourced team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I choose Blazor Server or Blazor WebAssembly for my project?
The decision comes down to your users and your infrastructure. Choose Blazor Server if your users are on reliable, low-latency networks (such as a corporate intranet), if you need tight control over data access security, or if you want faster initial load times. Choose Blazor WebAssembly if you need offline capability, if you expect a large number of concurrent users and want to reduce server costs, or if the application is public-facing. Blazor Hybrid is a third option if you need to ship the same UI in a native desktop or mobile application alongside a web version.
Is .NET still a good technology choice in 2026?
Yes. .NET 8 and the .NET 10 LTS release sit on one of the most actively developed runtimes available. Microsoft publishes a clear LTS cadence, with a long-term support release every other November, which means you are not betting on an uncertain future. ASP.NET Core continues to rank in the top tier of web framework benchmarks. Recent C# language versions have added features that make the language more expressive without breaking existing code. For enterprise, financial and data-intensive applications, .NET remains one of the most pragmatic choices available.
How long does a .NET Framework to .NET 8 migration take?
It depends primarily on the size of the codebase, the number of third-party NuGet packages that need replacing, and the quality of the existing test coverage. A small application with 20,000 lines of code and few external dependencies can migrate in two to four weeks. A mid-sized application, around 100,000 lines with complex dependencies on Windows-only APIs or legacy COM components, typically takes eight to sixteen weeks. We run a dependency and compatibility audit in the first week of any migration engagement so you have a concrete estimate before significant work begins.
Is .NET MAUI production-ready?
Yes. .NET MAUI shipped with .NET 6 in 2022 and has matured significantly through .NET 7, .NET 8 and later releases. Microsoft uses it internally and the community has shipped production applications across all four target platforms. That said, MAUI is a younger framework than React Native or Flutter, and there are still edge cases in some platform renderers. For most business applications, MAUI is a solid production choice. For applications with very demanding UI requirements on a specific platform, we assess native development as an alternative during the scoping phase.
What does it cost to hire a .NET developer through DevIT Group?
Our rates run from $22 to $30 per hour depending on the engineer's seniority and the nature of the engagement. A dedicated senior .NET developer working full-time (160 hours per month) costs between $3,520 and $4,800 per month at those rates. There are no recruitment fees, no margin stacked on top of the engineer's rate, and no lock-in contracts for staff augmentation engagements.
